Being three steps ahead (as usual) of my refit
I have been considering installing a jack plate on my Classic 19 Outrage stern.
Outboard is a 97 Merc 150 offshore 25" shaft.
I have been viewing dozens of unit through EBay
What have been your best brand matches for this kind 20"of transoms?

To each his own, but the two I like are CMC and Bob's Machine Shop, and I would go with the heavy duty ones.

Serge - In my opinion, this is what you should buy. Detwiler is the only company I found that makes them in anodized aluminum. I researched them all, and I think these are the best, and best looking, hands down.

All the others are mill finish aluminum which will corrode and turn black in salt water.

See the SS side series units. The surface that mounts to the boat has two sets of bolt holes, 1" apart. This feature is extremely important because of the shallow transom of the 19 Outrage, and will give you an automatic 1" of lift as a starter, also important because of your 25" engine.

Thank You Larry.
As usual you have been a Gentleman in your advise for detailed refit questions.
What was the total cost of getting one to your door?
I would be curious to know of the actual costs to my door here in Canada.

Serge I believe the 6" or 8" setback Side bolt models are about $350 delivered. You can buy direct from them by giving them a call in Minnesota.
