Actually the fish weighed 583 pounds. 265 kilo = 583 pounds. Amazing they got it over the gunnel without flipping.
One night while my 13' was tied at the dock we put 12 decent sized people standing in it. 12 x 170 lb average + 120 lb engine = 2160. The water was almost comming over the 15" transom cutout. A 20" transom could have held more.
Just before that 9 of us took the boat across the back harbor to get a better view of the fireworks. Too much drinking and not enough thinking!

I've had six "very hefty" adults in my 13' before.......though I didn't even try to get on a plane, she handled quite well. We were all amazed at how well she sat in the water with all of us in it. Lol.

Amazing little boats.

When I lived in the Azores, it was common for the local fishermen to haul large tuna and even marlin into amazingly small homemade wooden boats. You gotta do, what you gotta do.
