Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: 22 OUTRAGE ---Where does the water go??

I have a 1986 Boston Whaler Outrage, and I was wondering what happens to the water the Inevitably gets under the floorboards. I have not seen a place where it drains out.
I took the small floor board piece directly to the left of the console out (where the fuel filler is) and I can see sitting water.

I am planning on recaulking all of the floorboards, and would also like tips if there are any out there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Most people drill holes in the hull to let it drain. Maybe adding a drain plug to the bottom of your transom would drain some water out.

Take a look at this article, it should give you a very good idea of what things look like below the deck. This is a very nice article chronicling Jeff Rohlfing's Outrage 22 deck repair.

Tom,

Lee is talking about water he has that is trapped in the rigging tunnels and in the fuel tank cavity. Lee unfortunately there is no way to keep water from getting in to that area. Trust me as you can see in my article mike posted I tried my best and I still get water in there all the time. Honestly it would take a lengthy article to explain what I have found since the rebuild and how to fix things but, I do not have the time to write it right now. Though I need to start writing it and it is on my list of "whaler to-dos."

Lee I will PM you with my phone numbers. Feel free to call me on them and I am happy to help you out.
