Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Restoring a Montauk 17 - Rub Rail

Hello. I have recently purchased a very tired 1987 Montauk 17. The original rub rail (rubbing strake in UK) is no longer serviceable and I wish to replace it with the more robust black 2 piece rail as fitted to the newer boats i.e. 2000 onwards (it seems far better than the old style 3 piece rail).
Does any body have an idea where I can get this, what the cost might be and who may be happy to ship to the UK.

Thanks.

Jolly, Welcome Aboard WhalerCentral.....

It sounds like you are looking for the "Heavy Duty" or Commercial Rub Rail kit.

See this thread for the original rub rail as you can order the Heavy Duty one from the same places.

All parts for Whalers up to 10 years old are available from your Boston Whaler dealer.
At least that is what the dealers tell me. So, if you are looking for a part that is on a newer Whaler, then any dealer should be able to order it.
