I bought this 2006 johnson with the oil reservoir tank. An owners manual is on its way. The oil reservoir has a fill opening, a hose that goes to the engine with a bulb pump and another thing that looks like a vent. It sits on the top of the tank. It is just a 90 degree plastic elbow about 3/16 diameter but it has a rubber plug on the end. It seems to me that it won't vent properly with a plug over it. Is that supposed to be like that or should that be removed when running?

Nope, leave the plug on, it'll vent just fine as is.
