I'm about to purchase a 2011 30 hp E-Tec for my 1988 13ft super sport. I am replacing a 1987 35 hp Mercury. This will be a long shaft with electric start, remote and power trim installed by the shop. What should I look for regarding the installation? Is there any add-on I should include? Is the factory prop the one I want? This coming in at $5600. Is that reasonable?

Nice little combination. I love my 30 on my 1969 Sport 13. Good thing you got the power trim as it will give you more flexibility on mounting height.

That'a a great question, glad you're asking it now as proper set up is key to optimal performance and not all dealers do a thorough job.

Give this article below a read, then take a look around the E-Tec Owners Group website. Plenty of very useful and accurate information from guys who really know these engines extremely well.
