Heres the story,

The guy claims it has 60 hours and came off another whaler. The previous owner before him only used it during the winters when he came down and had the boat re powered with a 4 stroke. The guy that owns it now is a commercial fisherman which worries me, but he said he just bought it and is selling it because its not enough HP for his boat. Other than a compression check, what can I look for? The guy wants $1800 which is much less than any other I could find and it comes with 2 props and controls. It is a 2003 2-stroke.

I would say Salt corrosion but I would be supprised if you find any if the motor is as described. Good price too.

Look at it, run it, do a compression check. I like the internal oil reservoir on the Yamahas. Great price if it's in good shape.

Thanks guys. I assume there will be a plate on there like my Mercury that states the year/model?
