Advice was to use ring free when filling up the tank... any difference with the omc carbon guard ( aside from price ) ... have a 97 115 Ocean Pro

I've run Yamaha Ring Free for several years with no issues at all. In fact, I've run it in my lawn mower too! Lol.

Ring free works great for cleaning carbon using the shock treatment procedure and helps prevent heavy carbon buildup.
The Carbon Guard works best for preventing carbon buildup and only so-so for cleaning a well used motor.

I have used Ring Free but have moved to Seafoam with good results. The Seafoam is an excellent fuel stabilizer and also a carbon cleaner. Seafoam is much cheaper too.
