theres a vast array to choose from. i have a sport 15' (76') i want something to hold the rods in transit and to use when i deadstick bait, or even troll. i'm hesitant in drilling holes in the huull, but i will if its advised. I looked at the rail rod holders but i'm afraid of scratching up the rail or corrosive damage. thanks in advance!

Marko,
I would recommend the Lee's Rail Mount rod holders. The Lee's were a factory option for all the Classic Whalers.
I have used these for over 20 years with no problems. They aren't cheap, but they hold up very nicely when taken care of.

I too have been hesitant to drill holes in my Whaler. I discovered SeaSucker at the Frank Sergeant Outdoor show at the Florida State Fairgrounds a month or so ago. They use high quality materials with very strong suction cups to secure a variety of accessories. Although costly, I purchased the 3 rod holder and have mounted it on my Sport 150 in a couple of different locations and when out with my wife who doesn't like fishing, it remains at home.
