Greetings
Can anyone provide me with feedback on the newer low profile 12 gallon fuel tanks that are available?
For those of you that have them on your 13's, where do you stow them? I've seen them stowed under front and back seats. Are there any cleats available to keep these tanks secured?
Any feedback or experiences with these tanks from 13 owners would be greatly appreciated.
We're almost finished refurbishing our 1973 Soupruss (see my personal page) and would like to add additional capacity out of the way other than an additional six gallon tank.
Thank you!!

Joe,
I have a 12 gallon tank under the forward seat on my 13. I have a picture on my personal page. It provides more range than I need, but I like getting the weight more central and clearing out the stern area. No issues with it so far. Mine came with no cleats and I ended up making some stainless steel brackets that I mounted to the underside of the front seat so no holes in the deck. I have been happy with the tank and the location.

I installed a low profile tank under the front seat of my 15, and am very happy. More room, better weight distribution. Just make sure you put a mat of some kind under the tank to protect the deck.

Gentlemen
Thank you so much for the advice.
Mike: I saw the picture on your page. Is that a Moeller tank? Does it at all get in the way of the front seat passenger? Or, was it moved forward for the picture?
Thanks again, guys!

Joe,
The tank is a Moeller. The tank does stick out from the seat, mostly to have easy access to the fill. It does not get in the way though, even for small passengers. Your legs are bent when you are sitting on the seat so it is really not an issue.

I just sold my 1973 Sourpuss and just happen to have
a 12 gallon low profile tank that was never used.
It will fit under either front or rear bench seat.
