246 miles from Norfolk to DC in our 19-foot Montauk, about 1/4 of the way to Boston. Great time, great adventure. So much to say but, so little time. My next door neighbor growing up, Greg Schiller, had a great way of getting down to the nuts and bolts. He would ask: "What was the worst part of your trip and what was the best part!"
The worst part, so far, is we have been brutally reminded that we can not make plans to meet people on travel days to save our lives. . Too much can and does happen, from weather to provisioning for the day to offers of kindess and so much more.
The best part . . . where to begin. The Whaler and 150 Merc have performed flawlessly. Other sponsors, including Janis at Magic Brush, have been beyond helpful. Our traveling companions, the Heins from CO. in their 18-outrage and the Jordans from MS in their 17-foot Montauk have been amazing. What incredible people. And, I'm here to tell you the American Spirit is as strong as ever. What an amazing group of fellow countrymen we have met thus far.
If you have any questions please let me know. A lot of updates at our website www.onlyinamerica.biz or on FB.
Thanks,
John
