I have several rivets broken near the tramson on the port side of my whaler that holds the plastic part of the rail to the gunnel. If I pull the rubber part from plastic about 3 ft how much trouble will it be to reinsert the rubber part and how do i do it. Many thanks for info.

Reinstalling the rubrail insert is straight forward. It requires some force.

Position the top part into the track and use a rubber mallet and drive the lower part in by hitting the rubrail in the center. Work from the part where it is in the track toward the end in small amounts (3-4").

A sunny warm day will help since a warm rubrail is more flexible.

Use liquid dish soap as a lubricant.
