hey everyone, i just bought a 72 boston whaler that needs a lot ofwork. the boat is a 72 model 16 foot "bass boat" that i have just removed the bass boat cap from. the hull is a standard bw. my question is to the rarity of this particular model and any thoughts on whether i should spend the many many hours restoring the "bass boat" cap. the gunwales of the cap are in very bad condition and i have considered modifying it less the gunwales and using just the decks and the original console. let me know what you guys think, i like the wider gunwales but that would mean a lot, i mean a lot of work, a miracle!!! here are pics of what it looks like, not mine of course.

sabinelaker,
Welcome Aboard WhalerCentral.
The Bass Boat model was on made for 5 years.

The Bass Boat used the same cap as the Newport models I believe.
I wouldn't throw out your old cap and I certainly would use the boat without it until a day that you find another cap or want to spend time fixing the one you have.
Whatever works for you.
