Hi guys. I want to mount a 500gph baitwell pump on my transom using a removable bracket as shown in this link:

The pump is plumbed to a 11 gal bucket I made that works great for live bait. Problem is I don't want to drill any holes in my transom and prefer to mount the removable pump bracket on a small piece of starboard with 3M-5200. Has anyone used 3M-5200 in a similiar application. Hate to loose the pump or have it chopped up by my prop. The pump is a Rule 500gph.

Thanks

3M's 5200 will not adhere to King Starboard's product. It requires a special adhesive.

Take a look at this thread:

I tried using starboard with 5200 and it did not work.

I took a piece of wood 2"x4"x6" and encapsulated it in West Systems Epoxy tinted white. Then I roughened the area were I was mounting on the transom with 80 grit sand paper and mounted the encapsulated wood to the transom using West Systems Epoxy thickened with Colloidal Silica and held it in place with wide blue painters tape. After 24 hours I removed the tape and ran a bead of thickened epoxy around the base of the wood. Then I mounted my transducer to the wood with screws that were coated with 4200. Works great for the last two years and no holes in the transom. If the wood ever rots out I will just grind it down to the transom again and start over with a new piece. I can get a picture if you need it.
