The hull is a 1981 13' Sport and the engine is 2000 Honda 40 with remote controls.
If you have a similar set-up and you've been wondering what an extra inch of pitch will do for you, here is my experience.
I owned and used the boat for about a year with the same prop that was on it when I bought it. 11.25 x 13
At WOT the rpm would get very close to 6000 and top speed was about 30.
6000 is the max recommended rpm for this engine and it is really screaming when spinning this fast.
I would run it at about 5400 rpm which gave me about 27 mph.
Last weekend I slapped on a 11.1 x 14" prop and it made a huge difference.
Now she cruises at 5000 rpm and does 32 mph. Perfect.
At WOT she spins about 5500 and hits 34 mph. Again, perfect.
The elevation of the lake is about 800 feet above sea level. My summer time water is much higher, about 5200' asl, so the old prop might go back on when I get up there. Not sure how that will work out.
