I need a recommendation for a new anchor for my 84' Montauk.

Thanks,

Mike

I have a Rocna, and I am very happy with it.

I would think a fluke anchor would be what you would need on the coast. They will be sized to your boat. If you are boating in a area with heavy current the amount of chain in front of the anchor is as important as the anchor. I have 6 foot of chain in front of my fluke style anchor but over on the east coast the tide moves a lot more than in the gulf.

I love my Fortress anchors. Very lightweight but incredibly effective in the sandy and muddy bottom I mostly encounter. As Bakes mentioned, its imperative to have the proper chain lead.
