I am a relatively new Aussie fan of whalers and have been researching to buy one. Have found an Eastport 205 and have been told that it is the same as the Conquest range. I found some literature stating that Easport was a limited edition classic design? What I am wondering is are they the same as Conquest, are suitable for offshore fishing in swell/rough seas or are they more designed for flat water cruising? Any comments would be most helpful and most appreciated.

al,

The Eastport 205 had just a name change the following year. It was renamed the Conquest 205.
There may or may not be some new additions to the newer model. You would have to check the catalogs for any difference in the newer model. I looked at one when they first came out and they looked very nice.

I assume they did this just to keep the entire line narrowed down and make it easier on them and the consumer. They also changed the name of the 190 Nantucket to the 190 Outrage. Now they have the Outrage lineup and the Conquest lineup along with the Montauk lineup of the 150, 170, and 190.
