Hi,
Was given an 88 17' Montauk on a Shoreliner trailer. The bearings are junk and I am in the process of replacing. They are so rusted out I cannot read the code on them.
I am not currently near the boat; does anyone definitely know the spindle size of a Shoreliner of that vintage? It has the old 78-13 tires (175 now) on a 5-lug bolt pattern.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

From past experience, most single axle trailers have one of two standard bearings. For the sake of argument lets call them large or small.
Take one of the old bearings in to a Napa auto store and the guy should be able to measure it and get you going. I had one get toasted on the highway once and called the nearest Napa store to see if he could cross the numbers and had the part. The guy said "I don't need the numbers I have both sizes" and he knew the minute he saw it which one I needed. Things may have changed over the past few years since but I bet Nap will have the ones you need.
