How do you disassemble the presmirked montauk stern light? I am not sure how to get the electrical out. Also, I am surprised the post is chrome plated brass and not stainless.

Yes, but I would like to completely disassemble the light.

The only thing left is the light socket and the wires attached to the bottom of the socket.

The socket may be corroded in place.
I am not positive about the socket on this light but other similar lights the socket pulls out from the top of the housing. Carefully.....

I was able to pull the socket out with some pliers. I use a torch and heated up the pole and was able to pull it out too.

So, the socket just wiggles out, with a bit of finesse?

pretty much. I didn't use a lot of finesse though.
