Is their a product that you can bond to the bottom of the keel(?) to protect from beaching?

Yes, you are correct. They are available at most marine stores and also at Academy. I've priced them at Academy for $119.00 I think.
Well worth the money if you ask me.

Keel Guard is made by Mega Ware. They have several colors that you can order right from the factory. Great product and service on their end. Lots of marine dealers carry them as well as West Marine. Just research prices. If you get one, you may want to cut one end on the same angle as the strakes and snug it up right under them. If you go over the strakes it may not adhere in that area for long as one I had did. They are not easily removed. Follow the instructions exactly and you will love it. Good Luck
