Mike,
Just tried to post an entry to the contest and I received an error message regarding the upload...
I'll check back in a coupla days to see if it got posted...but my initial confirmation notice didn't fill me with confidence...maybe that's why there are only 2 or 3 entries....
I don't own an Ipod....

danedg,
Did you try it again? I haven't submitted one myself. Wouldn't want to put Joe through having to vote against me.;)
Are there instructions as to what type of file and file size? That is something we have to do here.
Hope you get it done - as of earlier today there are only 4 submissions. At this rate they won't be able to give away all those replicas!

Mike...
There are no specific instructions for file size / type etc...which seems odd.
My submission has not been included, but there is a new post since Friday in Region 4 of an 11 year old in his own brand new Whaler, without a life jacket on...
My old man wouldn't let me drive his, until I was 40...much less take it out on my own!
I'll try again....

There have been a few more entries in the contest. Check them out.
Some regions are still vacant however. Send them your photos. You will never know unless you try.

Looks like only 13 entries so far. All in the photo sections. No videos yet.
Surely there are more folks who would like to get their hands on one of those models.

Trying to figure out how photoshopping yourself and your Whaler into a photo of another Whaler qualifies as a "memory"........
...but there are some great entries there. Keep them coming guys!

I am trying to figure out if this is a photo contest or memory (essay) contest? If it is a memory contest then the essay should be given more importance than the image. However, the rules state.
"8. The winners will be selected based on committee’s final decision on (a) positive emotional reaction to the photo or video; (b) how well the photo or video depicts the meaning of Boston Whaler product and brand; (c) the clarity of the photo or video; (d) the condition of boat, i.e. well maintained, original parts, boat name; (e) the overall creative potential of the photo or video, and (f) public response to the photo or video."
I still have to shorten my story to fit the 300 words and figure out which picture of the bunch is the best.

Some changes have been made to the Whaler Memories Contest.
The text length now allows more than 300 words.
If you uploaded an image, and don't see it on the web site, try to upload it again.

I uploaded my photo and story and it seems the whaler site must have a problem like WC does at times because, every place I had an apostrophe it doubled or changed the charactor in front of it.
17' Montauk became 188 Montauk
15' Super Sport became 155 Super Sport.

The Whaler Memories Contest is ending shortly.
For those of you that haven't yet entered, I would suggest entering as soon as possible.
This is a great way to display your boat on the Internet and possibly win some prices and a spot on the Boston Whaler Calendar.

Joe -
Is there a way to edit your entry? Not the photo, but the memory story?
Just curious.

I just received a photo of the prototype 50th Anniversay Whaler model that will be given out to contest winners.
The final design may be slightly different.

I entered a picture late last week. It has been posted to the website. I am in region 5. The memory title is "Forever Summer Fun".
It was fun looking through pictures. There a lot of good memories over the years. As I was looking, from oldest to newest, I knew this was the right picture for me to enter. It pretty much sums up our experiences with these great boats.

My entry has been posted (region 4) on the Whaler contest website. The title, "A Great Day on The Battle Ready Outrage". In the photograph, I'm on the back of the boat with a VERY BIG Bluefin Tuna.B)

This is the last day to enter your photos as the contest ends tonight at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
I see a lot more people have entered their photos recently and Boston Whaler also posted the photos that were mailed in versus the electronic entries that were posted almost immediately.
Lot of good looking photos and owners memories.
