Would like to know if anyone on here has had, or still has, experience with the BW outrigger setup (1980 c.) that mounts to the top of the handrail at the top center of the center console? I've e-mailed BW for a possible photo and whether this part is still available or could be ordered custom from the Whaler factory. I think it was a SS deal approx. 12" X 5" x 2".

Outriggers were a factory option for the classic Montauk, and the equipment was manufactured by Lee's, but it is no longer in production. You may be able to find some available on online auction sites from time to time. Sue at Twin Cities Marine in Wisconsin may be able to give you the production number for the outriggers, which would help to locate them online. The mount was a cast unit that bolted onto the top of the shepard's crook (the curved rail above the windshield) and was a good solution. If you can find one of these, it would probably be an ideal solution for your boat.
If not, there are other, more clumsy mounts that may work for existing outrigger sets and you could likely make them work with a little adaptation and ingeniuity.

Here's a small photo that shows part of the outrigger mount for the center consoles.
This was also used on many Outrage models but the Outrages also had optional gunwale outrigger mounts.

And Dave is right. These are no longer available.

Send me a reminder in about 2 weeks and I'll send some close up photos of the base - I should have mine out of storage and re-mounted by then. The picture in a previously referenced message is a good shot of the top of the assembly where the outriggers actually "mount".
