The water-in-fuel alarm is always going off. I followed the fuel hose from tank to fuel filter thinking I would find a separator. Will replacing the filter solve this problem after trying Drygas and running it to empty? Suggestions?

The bilge pump worked at the showroom but not even the dash light comes on now. Fuses are good, no sound, nothing.

I owned a 1973 13 foot two years ago. Awesome boat. Is it just me or has the quality diminished considerably? That 1973 was tough, the 2005 Dauntless has loose fittings, crooked screws, fixtures, latches and this does not seem right.

If you are chronically getting water in your fuel, you need to identify the source. Was it a one time contamination from a bad gas station? Is there a leak in your fuel fill hose? Is an access plate not sealed on the tank in the bilge?

Whatever the source of the water, a separator/filter will help intercept fuel contaminants before they reach the motor. I assume the "filter" you are referring to is the small in-line filter under the cowl of the motor. You could add a filter/separator for little money and then you could monitor your fuel situation.

If the boat is a 2005 model, isn't it still under warranty? Why not take it to a dealer and let them deal with the little things not working?

Thanks for the reply, the only filter that I found was the canister style filter under the cowl. I will replace it, disconnect the battery for a while and wait and see what happens. As for the warranty, dealer said I am more than a year out now and having it taken care of is not under warranty.
