so this is the deal, i have seen a cradle or chock on ebay, that is used on a yacht to set a montauk on the deck. My wish is to be able to lift my 2003 170 montauk out of the water and set it on level ground with this "chock" or "cradle". my question is does anyone at whaler central know where i can get this set of chocks? Thanks for any ideas. T.

Is this a permanent setup you're looking for, or simply something you need to do occasionally?
I know of an owner (not sure if he's here, but he's a regular and an "original contributor" on the other site), who keeps his Montauk in a boathouse with no cradle - the boat is hoisted by chainfall up and into the boat house and it is balanced on the keel (directly on the wood floor) with hard foam padding under the outside sponsons to keep the boat level laterally.
If you are going to do this occasionally only, I'd recommend a 2X10 board on the ground along the keel, and old tires (no rims) on the outside edges to provide lateral stability.

For some reason Whaler's Government and Commercial Products web page is down...However, you could purchase what they call their "shipping cradle" from them. It is to long bunks mounted to a frame. Once their site is back up I could show you where it is located...

T,
I will warn you about sticker shock as I am sure it is not cheap.
Honestly you could make a similar cradle using a couple treated 6x6's and 2 2x8's or 2x10's as bunks.

Jeff,
thanks for your help, i am waiting to hear from B-B/W as to the cost of this shipping cradle at the end of the day i will fab. my own. It figures that for the longest time there was this dude that had these chocks on ebay, they would have been perfect, no rush on my end and like they say if " it's for your whaler then it's worth doing it right".
