This may sound like a stupid question but I have a 1969 13' Whaler with the original stern light post. My question is how do you keep the post tight in the two circular holders? Mine just slides up and down, there appears to be a type of knuckel on the holder does that turn and tighten???
Thanks for any suggestions

Doglips, welcome to Whaler Central!
No stupid questions here, so ask away (but use the search function on this site first, lol.)
On the top ring, there should be something with a plastic insert to tighten and keep your stern light from moving up and down.

It works just like a microphone stand.

Eastend,
I am not sure where you can get a bushing but, all I did was took a piece of black rubber automotive tubing and cut a 3/8" long section of it, slit it along the side so it would open and put it in my stanchion. A little shade tree yes but it works.
As for the globe, Yes the the perko globe will work on the mast and there is no need to pay Specialty's extra cost. I believe perko was the OEM manufacture for these lights any way. The
Perko 1209 DP Series can still be bought through Perko which is just like the Whaler lights. I comes with a base that really is of no use but the light pole fits into the Whaler stern Stanchions.
