There is a great article in the May issue of boating magazine on this subject titled " Is there a killer in your boat". I have an '89 Outrage with a 2008 115 hp ETEC. Recently we have had a couple of months in the Mobile AL area with no stations selling 100% gas; I had to use 10% ethanol blend. I have noticed that I am not holding RPMs as well under 3500 and acceleration from idle speed to 4000 RPMs is not as quick. Luckily, we now have 2 stations selling "marine grade" 100% gas at just 20 cents higher than regular and it is 89 octane, not 87. What a difference it makes! I think the article does a great job of explainig the effects of ethanol on hoses and polymer/fiberglass fuel tanks. A Google of the article name will bring it up on the internet.
