I recently bought a 17' Montauk with a 70 HP Yamaha. I want to use the boat in salt water as well as on a lake that restricts horsepower to a max of 10. I have a Merc 9.8 long shaft that I would like to mount on the back next to the Yamaha. Is this possible and is there a bracket that is available ??

Mount the long shaft engine right on the transom.
No bracket is needed or necessary.
Take a look through the members personal pages and see how many Montauks have kickers.

Yes i second Joe's advice. I have an old 4.5hp long shoaft merc on mine. Just clamps right on and work well. Joe
