A friend state that he heard Evinrude was in possible money trouble and might be going under. I spoke with my local Dealer (a very old salty dealer) he stated he had heard the same and that Evinrude had pulled all sales rep.'s off the road further stating that he called a few long time contacts at Evinrude and they were very closed mouth.
Anyone heard anything of this?

That's why we don't pay attention to rumors; anybody can make one up.

Let us know when you have some hard information. I have heard none.

Hearsay is just a polite word for BS.

I'll ask my dealer but, I have NOT heard that "Scuttle Butt", and I'm the "KING" of BS, so I would know !

Many companies, large and small are cutting back and laying off the sales force seems to be where many are heading. With the internet and other technology out there the need for the physical call seems to be not as important, especially when dealing with a franchise type product. This doesn't necessarily mean the company is going under

I know that they are giving some dealers the boot who have not followed the rules. I would assume if they were in trouble, they would want those dealers to just keep selling.
