Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Waterskiing/ Towing mount for Whaler

This issue has presented itself to my father and I. We bought a 2005 Boston Whaler Montauk 170 with a 90hp 4 stroke last year.
We do lots of waterskiing and other watersports on it, but we also encounter the problem that the rope is held to close to the water. The harness clips onto 2 metal loops on either side of the engine on the transom.
We've been looking desperately for a mount or other way to lift the rope out of the water further. We have seen other people with whalers using some kind of mount that keeps the rope out of the water.
Does anyone here know of any solution to this? If there is a mount or something I can buy where can I buy it?
Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you need a ski pylon or ski tow unit.
This is only example as you need one for your model.

And by the way, you have a Montauk 170, not a Montauk 17....

The Montauk 170 was made from 2002 to present...
