Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Anyone know this member?

Hello,

I would like to ask the owner of this fine boat,

http://www.whalercentral.com/photogal...?photo=759

a couple questions concerning the installation of his leaning post. I recently acquired nearly the exact same leaning post built by the same manufacturer, Natical Designs. I am wondering how the installation is treated at the clear fuel gauge access cover.

Alternatively, if someone with a Super Leaning Post option could chime in with respect to how the factory handled this, it would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Doug Vazquez

Doug,

That photo is also on the Members Slide Show at the bottom of our main website page.
If you click on that slideshow photo, it will bring up his name.
Or click here as I have already done this for you.

Once you know who he his, you can look him up in the 'Site Search' link on the left sidebar.

Put in Kurt, and then click the button, Members, and click search.
You can then send him an email or a PM

Jeff,

I hope you are you talking about another Nautical Designs leaning post and not an original Super Leaning Post, since I already have what I have.

The leaning post I have is pretty nice, however the storage boxes need to be replaced. I started that project this morning. The door/frame assemblies and the hardware seem to be pretty nice stuff, though. And the gelcoat color seems to be a nice match to our Desert Tan.

Another item I will always have have my eye open for is a 35" Super Console. I think it would go well with my new leaning post.

Does anyone know of a Outrage 22 owner with the Super Leaning Post option? I would like to see a picture of where the front of the leaning post is located relative to the fuel gauge.

Ya it is a Nautical design post..What are you doing with the Todd Post?

Doug,
I think it was member GTL that was looking at a 22 with a super console and super leaning post. You might want to look them up and see if they pics....

I also see Janis (draftsmans wife) just joined. I think see has the Super Console and Leaning Post options...

Jeff,

Thanks for the links to boats with the big leaning post. One image of the 25 shows the leaning post trailing edge crosses the clear access cover. It illustrates that I probably don't want to cover much more than 3/4 of the access cover.

As for the Todd leaning post, it will be for sale. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I put my new leaning post into the boat this evening. I may be able to cover 2/3 of the access cover and still be able to remove it for access to the gauge without pulling the leaning post. This will put the front of the leaning post cushion about 2" further aft than the Todd post was. It will make it harder to reach the wheel while seated on top of the leaning post, but I rarely operated the boat from that position anyway.

Thanks again,
Doug
