I was wondering if anyone has put this on their boat and what, if any, problems they have had. The keel on my boat is rubber down to the fiberglass and was thinking this would help.

gentryg,
I have not put one on myself but think it would be a good idea if you are beaching the boat frequently.
I know many people have put them on and what I hear is that the 3M adhesive is the best.
Hopefully someone else will give you some more information.

I was down to glass also on a 15 Sport. The Keel Guard, I think that was the brand name, has worked fine for 2 seasons so far. Part of it sits on a roller and that was not recomended, but so far so good. John

Thanks for your response. I do beach the boat frequently so I think I will get the keel guard. JMARTIN did the Keel Guard come in a color that matched the bw tan or did you go with white. I looked on hte web site and they had a tan that looked pretty close.

Thanks John. That looks like a good match to me. The Keelguard will go # 1 or 2 of 1,000,000 things to buy. That might sound like complaining but I love it

I INSTALLED A "KEELGUARD", THAT IS THE BRAND NAME. THE COMPANY USES 3M ADHESIVE. I HAVE A 15 SPORT AND FREQUENTLY USE A SANDY LAUNCH RAMP. LIKE ANYWHERE ELSE THERE ARE PROTRUDING ROCKS AND DEBRIS. I HAVE NOTICED KNICKS AND GOUGES IN MY GUARD WHICH I FEEL HAVE PROTECTED MY HULL FROM DAMAGE. I THOUGHT IT WAS A LITTLE EXPENSIVE FOR A PIECE OF RUBBER, BUT I THINK IT WAS WORTH IT. IF YOU DO BUY AND INSTALL TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ ALL THE DIRECTIONS FOR INSTALLATION (FOLLOW THEM CLOSELY FOR SUCESS). I ALSO PAINTED OVER MINE WITH BOTTOM PAINT, BUT YOU CAN BUY THEM IN ASSORTED COLORS. ON MY 15 SPORT I ACTUALLY TRIM MINE DOWN SO IT ENDS RIGHT AT MY FRONT ROLLER. I BASICALLY EYED UP WHERE MY INITIAL CONTACT WAS TAKING PLACE,SAW THE SCRATCHES AND SCRAPES AND BEGAN THERE.

I had Keel Guards installed on both my new Whalers ('03).
Fishing the Gulf side of Florida you need all the help you can get when it comes to oyster bars, rocks and sand!
BTW. They've paid for themselves many times over in as they've saved my keel many times and still look great!
