I have a '98 Mercury 250 EFI outboard on my 23' Outrage whose (engine) oil resevoir developed a small leak. My mechanic used a little silicon to stop the it but I am thinking about replacing it myself. Is this something a reasonably mechanically inclined person can do? Iis there anything I need to be careful of when replacing it? Besides the resevoir and while I am at it, should I replace anything else while I am doing this (like the gasket, cap assembly and swith assembly)? Thanks.

When assessing the difficulty, getting a good idea of parts involved and how they come/go apart/together involved I like to look at the parts catalogs Mercury has available online.
