I have a 1999 Montauk. The stern light works fine but it has a fairly basic some what poor way of connecting
it I feel. It has two separate wires that come out of the base of the light pole and connect to two separate wires coming out of the wiring in the rear of the boat.
(The wires do have terminations on them) However it seems a little ronco to me.
It would seem as though there was a better way to make this connection more durable and simpler (one connection rather than two).
A water proof automotive style connector maybe. Has any one done this, or is mine not right?
If anyone has photos of there electrical connection at the stern light (original or improved) that would be great if they could post them.

When I purchased a Perko OEM stern light for my 1987 Montauk from Sue at Twin Cities, it included a rubberized two pole connector.

That has always been one of the only things that I have hated about Montauks. When I modified my boat I mounted an LED light on my motor cowling. I fish a lot at night and a hard wired connection is just much more reliable...
