Currituck Console Help

I will be going to get it next weekend and would be happy to take pictures/measurements for you if your interested.

I to will be at the boat this weekend and could possibly take some measurements. Maybe between the three of us (I am assuming that Fishmore still has the console pieces from his rehab???), we could come up with a consolidated plan.

Member Personal Page Posts: 270 Comments: 0 Joined: 11/20/07	I have a couple of original pieces in my storage unit but most of it was not original. I ended up swapping to a Montauk interior. I still like the look of the Currituck though and I have often thought of making a new interior and storing it to save for the right boat as I have a bunch of mahogany around. The Currituck is a great layout for the lakes in my opinion.

The Currituck 16 was made until 1975 which was the last year of the smirkless 16 hulls. The Currituck 16 name was changed to Sport 17 for the 1976 model year and has the same style of wood interior as its predecessor. The 1976 models also had the new Smirked hulls. So, basically the Currituck and the Sport are the same models with the exception of the Smirkless versus Smirked hull which also had a change in the bow locker cover. I would like to make a more “mechanical” (type) drawing of the console, but tomorrow is opening day of the spring trophy striped bass season on the Chesapeake, so no promises when… Joe, I can’t seem to locate a picture of the 17 Sport. I would like to compare the consoles. I did find the 17 SS - http://www.whalercentral.com/userphot...hoto_id=84 and its console is very reminiscent of the Currituck, and that this configuration returned (with a smaller console) as a 17 Standard - http://web.archive.org/web/2000022910...ard17.html

Here is a members 1976 Sport 17' in his personal page. http://www.whalercentral.com/infusion...r_id=11876 I'm trying to get someone to submit a photo of their Sport 17' for the Whaler Model Specification section but no one has yet. The photos in the personal page section are too small as submitted photos should be 640x480 minimum on up to 960x720.
