Here is a link to Jeff's repair of the deck in his Outrage-22.
http://www.whalercentral.com/readarti...ticle_id=8
Nice Job! This is going to be a great help to many people. The photos are good quality and the narrative puts you right there with Jeff and his Dad.
Sure seems like Dad is doing a lot of the work though
There are nearly 60 photos in this reference article, so some folks may experience a little slow loading. But the wait will be worth it.
Thanks go to Jeff, who in addition to all of his contributions to the site is also one of the administrators here at Whaler Central.

Jeff,
Thanks for the excellent restoration article. This will help me in the fall when I take my console and deck out to replace the fuel lines on my 18' Outrage. I suspect that I also have water holding in the tank area and will weight my boat later this week to see if the repairs can wait until fall.
Thanks again,
Jack

Thanks guys. I am sending off a revised one to mike today. Yes my Dads has been a great help. My job tends to take up A LOT of my time and father has never been one to procrastinate. Luckly my father has had some free time in his "retirement" to help a lot lately.
Peter Dunster (cndwhaler) John Flook (kingfish) and Don McIntyre came over last Thursday to view the boat with the deck off. Peter said it was well worth the 8 hour round trip... I also have to give Peter photo credits on a couple images. Some how I lost a couple images and with the floor on now I would have been screwed if Peter did not have his camera that day.

thanks phil...I think I would have to start charging for the work though
We will see what the future brings. My father was thinkning of buying and restoring old whalers in his retirment. How ever after this he might change his mind because it is a lot of work and expense.

Jeff,
When I inspected under the forward well deck, we're talking about my 22 now, I noticed up in the corner this white plug/cap. This is the same in picture #10, bottom left corner, of your report. You installed a Rule in this front well and ran the exhaust out this way I think. When I visited, I thought you had drilled the hole through there new. So, does this white plug lead to the rigging tunnel for drainage? Or is more drilling neccessary?
This question has made me realize you may want to number the pictures in your report so it's easier for those of us with questions to refer to.
Peter

Peter there was a hole drilled 1/2 way through that bulkhead behind the cap. You just have to finish it. I had to drill a bigger hole because of my pumps discharge hose was so big...

The page is updated with Jeff's latest version. 60 photos in all.
Per Peter's request; the images have been numbered to allow for easier identification.

Thanks Mike, I notice I incorrectly said photo #10 and it's actually #9 so this will help those us of who have trouble counting beyond 5.

Alfa, I have some of my original documents up here in the the downloads area. However if you would like to help, I would say scan what you have and save it as a PDF. Then I would send them us for upload to the site here. Anything to help out would be great!
Thanks for the suggestion.
BTW I see you are from France...how did you find the site?

Jeff,
I'll scan these docs as PDF and send them for the site.
Very easy to find the site via Google. But also via refs from ContinuousWave site.
Tight lines
