The fiberglass anchor locker hatch, does anyone know if the core is wood or something else. I have the 1990 19 outrage and was wondering as it apears that one corner is alittle soft. Thanks for all replies
I repaired the cover on my 1991 Outrage 17 and it has wood along the edge where it was repaired. While I don't know for certain, based on the cover's weight, I would suggest it is has a plywood or balsa core.
My repair was for a split of the fiberglass on the underside edge. Water had entered since it was the part that sat on the shelf and rotted the inside ~ 1" wide x 4" long. I cut out the glass from the underside with a dremel. I also sealed the exposed fiberglass "green line" along all the edges too.
