I recently purchased a stern seat for our 2002 "Classic" Montauk. I require further information before proceeding with installation of the stern seat:
1. The mounting hardware on the seat is intact, but I need to purchase the hardware for the boat. I believe the hardware was manufactured by Perko, but their customer service department is closed due to the holiday. It looks as if I need two brackets: A slotted bracket into which a fixed tab on the seat fits and a bracket into which the swiveling threaded bolt with the plastic handle fits.

2. Where is the hardware installed? The boat will have a new Yamaha F70 EFI Four Stroke (when they're released), so the height of the cowling is not a major concern.

3. Detailed digital photographs of other classic Montauks with stern seats would be greatly appreciated. My email address is:

Thank you and Happy New Year!

Joe,

Thank you! That is exactly the information I needed. I'll send the photographs of the OEM parts mounted on the boat to Perko Monday to see from whom I can purchase them.

Thank you again and Happy New Year!

Regards,
Paul

That's great Paul.

I need to commend ratherwhalering (Rob) on keeping the photos up on the hosting site he used as they are still current.

Many members seem to delete photos from earlier posts.
I most likely should still upload the photos to WhalerCentral just in case Rob changes things in the future. It happens..............

Good Luck with your stern seat. A nice addition that can be removed when you don't need it for something like fishing....
