Has anyone tried the bow light from Specialty Marine? It appears look just like the OEM light and is 316 stainless steel.

I have seen the article about a bow light from ebay, but this does not appear to be the same one in the article.

Thanks.

I bought the bow light/chock for my Montauk from them.

Seems very well made, probably better made than the original and looks great.

Even came with a light bulb.

Justin
Is this the newer style light that Whaler started using in 2003? If so how did it fit on your Montauk and what type rub rail do you have. I am considering purchasing one, I have a commercial rub rail and would like to know how it would fit, thanks

My bow light is very similar and has held up fine for the past three years i've had it. Though I didn't get my light from Specialty Marine, it's the same one.

I had to made a rubber bushing in order to fit my light on as it's a light for a newer BW. The light looks great on my boat and I've had no problems what so ever with it.

I heard the bow light for classic Montauk is shaped a little differently where the lip curls over the rub rail.

Their nav lights for Outrages are not identical to the originals.

I have one I bought a while back. WhalerDan is correct, that the lip is not on the same radius. The one I have will not fit over the rub rail as snug as an oem light. I bought the newer style from sue for not much more money To go on my project.

It seems to be nearly identical in dimensions to the original brass chromed one that was on my Montauk. The lip is squared off, but so was the original, and the holes aligned perfectly.

Basically fits as the old one did, which would be nice if it had some sort of rubber gasket around the base to make it level with the rub rail with no gap under it, but the original was the same.

Heres a pic:

I used the specialty marine light on my project. I made a starboard wedge to fit under the rear of the light to make it level. Looks and functions beautifully.

Thanks for all the responses, I think I will go with their light.
