I find it funny; that some times this group will be discussing a subject and the CW site will come up with no problem. But on the other hand if WC comes up on there site it is removed. This is just a observation and nothing more, OK. There are some very good people on both sites. But I think this site is the best one for whalers. I started posting back when Boston Whaler® ran the site then Jim took it over so I have been around enough to watch the sites develop.

CW was IMHO good until around 2006 or so, and then it JMH allowed it to become nasty. I prefer WC, and also WC has so many modern web site features. Both sites are good for info and other stuff. I'm glad they both exist. I think it's good that WC is cool about leaving links to CW.

I sure do like the fact that this site has an edit feature, I'm lost without one-

On CW there's many more guys commenting in, as WhalerDan mentioned above, a nasty way. This site is so much more friendly and informative than CW too. Joe doesn't put up with any bull and stops any potential problems as soon as it shows signs of starting.

Overall, WC is a fantastic site.

Being relatively new to Whalers of course I found both sites when searching for whaler information on the web. So I don't have much context when it comes to the history of what occurred there or here.

I have to say I like WC's layout much better along with the personal pages and recent posts etc. much more usable. I have to say though CW is using Google for its search function and I find it returns much better results when searching for old topics. I find on WC I always forget to switch it to "and" instead of "or" search, and the "or" search rarely finds useful hits unless I am looking for a single specific word, where as with Google it just tends to find good results.

So I end up asking questions and keeping up with post here, while using CW for searching for existing information.

To bad CW sensors any mention of WC, I am glad you guys take the high road on that.

Guess it's not the worst problem to have 2 webs sites devoted to your brand of boat, I have found more information on these sites for other brands of boats than anywhere else in fact!

Thanks for the great site, invaluable to me and a big reason why I love my Whaler so much!

I like the fact that we can look at each other's pic's on W/C, It's a bit more "professional", and "friendly" with advice as well, that's not to say that folk's on CW are not helpful, they are "Brother" Whaler owners after all, and I'm sure that any member on W/C would help someone with any boat related problem on CW. If you follow the W/C "Code of Conduct", you'll NEVER have a problem here. If you've come here to "Flame" and "Be Nasty", the "Captain" will step in, and you'll lose your privilages.

I certainly lurk, yet rarely post on CW anymore since I got reprimanded for replying about a specific measurement. I still have not figured out what I did wrong.

Both sites are invaluable to those of us who own these unique boats. The men who run these site should be commended and are entitled to administrate their sites as they please.

Since some of you are comparing, I'll bite:

Best User Interface: WC
Best on Mobile: CW
Best Search: CW
Reference: Tie
Open and Honest Community: WC

Unique WC advantages: Editing, Photos, Personal Pages, Project Albums, Messaging, Whaler Shopper Network

Winner: WC

Having being a member on both sites for some times;
I have found that the obvious fact will remain in the different roster of people interacting on both these good sites.
Style of presentation will be seen to be diversified.
Mode of expressions on a variety of subjects will also be of different styles.
It is all a mater of comfort zone really.
Some of the posters will be concerned with the hardware aspects of Whalers but then again;
Some posters will perhaps have views of different Whaler spectrum;
And this;
On a daily basis.

Dont lie
Dont Cheat
And dont give up..

Guts, I've been a CW member for a long time. I don't ever recall a time when Boston Whaler® ran the site.

CW, like WC is privately run.

Guts QUOTE: ["I started posting back when Boston Whaler® ran the site then Jim took it over"]

The word "the" should be "A" I see your confusion now... sorry!

Boston Whaler® never ran CW site.

Jim H is the Administrator of CW

Boston Whaler had a site that were no longer going to keep up. Jim H got the deal / ok to use there logo "Boston Whaler®" I believe it was is around 1997/99.
I see now he no longer uses there logo, it is CW instead of BW.. Can't tell you when that happened?
