Am currently looking for anyone that may have a stern fish box wood hatch for the 1973 model 19 Outrage that they are not using. The boat came without the teak hatch. Will have to make another one if if I can't locate one.

Not likely that you will find one.

But I have an all original one on mine, (hull #750), which I just happen to have in the house for varnish work, so I can give you the construction information:

Cover is made from solid 1" nominal teak, planed to 3/4" actual dimension, 41-7/8" long, by 16-1/4" wide. To achieve the width, 3 equal width boards are used, all with top surface edges routed with 45 degree bevel edge 1/4". Corners are rounded 3/4" radius. This gives the effect of 2 Vee grooves running the length of the cover. There is a 1" dia finger hole in the front board, center line 2-1/4" from front edge, centered on length.
Glue appears to be used between the board lengths.

On the bottom side, there are three cross blocks which hold the cover together, the end ones 12-7/8" x 2" x 3/4", and the center one 10-5/8" x 2" x 3/4". These also serve the purpose of holding the cover in place, and keeping it from moving around. Outside to outside on the two outer ones is 38-5/8". These also have 45 degree mitered and rounded ends to fit the inside corners of the glass fishwell. On all three blocks, there are 4 screws into the underside of each cover board, for a total of 12 screws per block. I assume glue also used in this assembly.

Finally, to hold the cover firmly in place, there is a 3/8" dia bungee cord which simply passes through a strap eye on the underside of the middle block, centerline about 4" from REAR edge of cover. This connects on each end to a strap eye on the fishwell stern face. Hook-to-hook length of this cord is about 24".
