Outrage 18 Sump Cover

I see what looks like a finger hole in the drawing. My 1986 came with a black starboard cover that was screwed down. I am going to have a teak one made, just wondering about the hole and whether or not to hinge it. Anyone have hinges on their sump covers for the 18s? Thanks, Don

It is also a great place to keep the removed drain plug from the sump area. This way the drain plug doesn't get lost.... I have never seen any factory type of fasteners or tie downs of any kind on the Outrage 18' sump cover. Member Posts: 540 Comments: 5 Joined: 06/26/07	Hi, My 1990 outrage 19, which is the samething as the 18 footer, has a hinged cover which is a plastic material. The hinge is molded into the cover and a pin installed. It also has a finger hole in it to open and the aft inside corner is rounded out to alow the engine harness and other cables to pass thru. The outboard half is screwed down and the inboard half is what opens. Is molded in the tan color as the rest of the boat. THOM : 1999 Outrage 18, 2012 E-TEC 150, 2012 EZ Loader trailer
