No kidding. My plans were to fish today and tomorrow but with the weather forecast of 5-7 inches of rain between today and tomorrow here in North Texas, I canceled those plans. So....while thinking about the Whaler I started brainstorming as to what needed to be done this fall to keep her in tip top shape. Has the weather started to change where you are yet?

Next week I'm going to barrier coat and bottom paint the virgin bottom of my Outrage. I know, I'm committing a sin, but what would you do if you had a dock in your front yard? I think it's taken me a year to get up the courage to do it, it's all roughed up and ready to go, too late to turn back know.

I would have gone out today but, it's cloudy w/ a chance of rain, getting "Cooler" too. Interlux #669 "Bottom paint" and I start our love affair every spring.

Walter,
I would have done, what I did, get a jetdock.
My projects all revolve around the 13 footer. The only thing I need to do to the 18 is take her in for the engines 3 year checkup.

Regelcoat. Its going to be a long winter.

Kamie,
It doesn't seem like three years since you repowered, but I guess it has. Time flies as we get older.
Repower is on my list for this winter. I am not 100% sure it will happen, but keeping my fingers crossed.

I started last week pulling off all the teak and stripping all the varnish. Then I'm packing it all up and it's going in the truck when we leave for Desert Hot Springs 5 weeks from now.
Nine coats of varnish is the project. One has to have a project for between the bike rides eh?
Still can't figure out how to get the RPS rod holder blocks off

I should refinish the teak on the gunwales but that is a spring job.
Doug,
it is hard to believe that it will be 3 years in May. I figured I didn't want to wait until May so I will take the boat in, probably Jan / Fed to have the three year work done.

I put in an automatic bilge pump last week. Other than that my plan is to get out on the water every chance I get. Oh -new tow vehicle is on the way.

finally cooling off here a little, so it's back to work finishing Raggedies other gunwale, and installing the new teak and mahogany on the center console. Way to hot to do that during the summer.

Pulled the boat yesterday, gave her a good cleaning, fogged the motor, and rolled it into the garage for a long winter's nap. Considering she hadn't been out the water since May 16th, it didn't take long to get her cleaned up. Thank God for Multi Season Ablative Bottom Paint. Looks like she'll need a minimal bottom work in the spring. I will change the lower unit oil, repaint the prop, touch up the motor paint, maybe redo the boot stripe tape, and the bow locker cover needs varnish. There's been discussion in the house of moving up to a larger boat, so I don't plan on any major investments.
Have to admit I am really ambivalent about letting this little 17 ft. boat go and looking for something larger. She's doesn't owe me anything, runs like a sewing machine, and really is just too "easy"...
