I'm looking at a 1980 20ft. Outrage in Destin, FL. It has a 150 Johnson on it. The boat has been detailed and tuned up, and is very presentable. It comes with a trailer (although very ratty)
What would a good price be on this combo? I'm new to Boston Whalers and want to use this boat to dive off of in the Gulf (near shore, 3 mi. or so).
I have a 1980 Outrage with a 1979 150 Evinrude on it and it came with a decent dual axel trailer. I traded two jet skis valued at 4400 each for it. It was in pretty rough shape though but maybe that will help. Not sure if it was a good deal but it suited me.
As far as the boat goes, I love it. Its a good solid boat that rides well. It does have a shallower vee the deep vee models that came after it but it still handles well in rougher seas. It is prone to porpoising at higher speeds but trim tabs will cure that or I've read that modifying the engine height will fix that too.
