Hey guys. I took my boat out recently. When I started the motor to make the return trip in, the motor would not go above 2500. I had to crawl back to the dock. When I put it in neutral, I could get it up to normal rpm range, but as soon as I put it in gear, it would go back to 2500. I'm not sure where to start with this one. Any feedback would be great.
Be careful when revving up in neutral. You really don't want to go above 2,000 RPM's.....
With the engine OFF and hood removed... Check the cables and make sure the throttle is advancing to full throttle when you move the throttle control...
