Good morning,I'm Italian (my apology for the English)and I just bought a V-20 (or what I think it is) to refurbish partially. In the same time my brother owns a outrage 20 of 1989, so I could compare the two boats.I read with lot of interest all the discussions of the forum about the story of V-20 and outrage 20.Very interesting!Especially all the explanations by Joe Kriz. Now my question:my new boat it's exactly similar to those of V-20 of 1983/84. Same bows, same back of the boat, different from outrage 20 of 1986/89(and different from the boat of my brother). It seems exactly a V-20...but...looking at this characteristics http://www.whalercentral.com/userphotogallery.php?album_id=9, the lenght of my boat should be 19' 10", and, instead, is 20' 30" like the boat of my brother. I'm a bit lost and don't understand anymore about it. Could you help me? Thanks. Alessandro

Hey alebozzo, I have a V20 too. The 1989 Outrage 20 is supposed to ride a little better than the V20.
I'm very happy with my V20.
There's a lot of boats that ride better than the 1989 Outrage 20 too.
There are pics of mine in my personal pages.
Good luck with it.

Thank you arthureld, for your reply. I know that Outrage 20 rides better...the fact is that I didn't still understand if mine is a V-20 or a Outrage 20. There's a photo in my personal page.
Thanks!

Alessandro-

Welcome to W/C.

We do not see your personal page. If you view your page by the link under your name, on the personal page, look down to "Category" and select "online". That will let us see it.

If you look at the model specifications for the Outrage 20, you will see it was sold in two versions. If your boat measures 20'3 then it would be a Outrage 20 and not a V-20. The only other feature that was different is the hull. The V-20 has a rounded keel in the stern where the Outrage 20 is a V.

Then again, photos will confirm if I am right or not.

Would your brother be Renzo of Venice, a fellow W/C member?

No, I'm not brother of Renzo, also if I read his topic. Going to see my page, why it's not visible.
Thanks

Your page is working. Good work.

In comparing the second photo to this member's personal page, I would say you have a V-20. The bow seats are the telling detail.

See this owner's V-20 personal page

I agree with you, Phil, the bows and the rear of the boat tell it, and in facts are different from the outrage 1989 of my brother. Also the decals "outrage-20"(in the rear part of the boat in mine and in the center in my brother's one) should indicate it.
Again, the only doubt is that the lenght doesn't match with the specifications of the V-20 (mine is 20' 30" instead of 19' 10"Wink. Funny. Anyway it's more a curiosity than a need. When I measured the boat I was a bit astonished, as I expected it shorter.

Phil, you did a great job with your boat!In Italy often we use Boston Whaler also for going around and taking sun; not only for fishing. I found nice a idea me and my brother had to cover the rear of the boat with wood, just to make easier the passage to go into the water (sorry, I don't know how to explain better). You can find now the photo in my personal page.

The splashwell deck cover is a great idea. Looks very functional and well done!

Yes, the splashwell is very useful. It's easier to mount it on a outrage 20 because the borders heights are at same level, but it's possible in V-20 as well. Better to make them openable,so you can access to below space.
