I keep my boat in the water, 190 nantucket and I noticed its running a lot slower then normal. Its been in since april 1, the bottom is painted but I noticed there is barnacles that have grown on the bottom, whats the best way to clean them off while boat is still in water. I tried going to sand bar and scrubbing with a brush on a pole but it didnt work , brush wasn't stiff enough I believe.
When I was a kid and working at Pompano marine scrapping and painting boat bottoms, all I had was a paint scraper. The barnacle is easy to remove, it's the circular base it leaves behind once scrapped off that is a bugga bear to remove.

Did you re-paint the bottom with "Anti-fouling" paint before splashing in April ? I would pull the Hull and inspect it, there may be more there than you think.
