I assume this is the boat you bought from Tuck? Can you explain what you have done to the boat, and what your plans are? Are you keeping her a Newport, or converting to an Outrage, or something of your own design? Your workmanship on what you show looks first rate. Are you painting, or re- gelcoating?

Yes I bought the boat from Tuck. I am a purist with most of this stuff. I have two little boys and decided to add the bow rail for a little safety. I kept the Newport Console and moved it to the center which made it easier to move around. Added a ski pole for water skiing and tubing and a swim platform to get out of the water. I painted her with AWLGRIP. Decided I liked the more white color of the newer whalers. Its getting some red harpoon decals. Some of the things I did were because of the budget restrictions but the things I changed I tried to do with a little respect to the heritage. Keeping the console an RPS although I did make a wood seat back to replace Newport one. Could not find cushions and the cost to make that seat back was a lot cheaper than custom cushions. Adding a 94 qt cooler behind RPS for extra seating and using some mahogany cooler cleats to secure it. Bench seat mounted to console replacing two bucket seats. Tilt steering, stereo and a few more dash accent pieces. I used Mahogany insted of Teak as I just like the look better. Hopefully be in the water July 4th!
