Wife and I visted the area last Febuary. She wants to go back, I'm willing to go, but want to take my 17' Whaler. So when is the best time for fishing ...Like to cast, jig, and drift bait ... not much into trolling. Like to catch just about anything,doesn't have to be monsters, but I'd like some action. Hopefully it not to late, but I prefer cooler weather anyways ... been hnown to run my 17 Whaler off shore a little, but enjoy bay fishing also.
So could some one give me advise of when, where and what to expect?

Just about anywhere around Morehead City, Beaufort, Shackleford Banks, Cape Lookout...etc. The area is one of the best in NC. Stop in any of the local tackle shops and ask where they are biting. This is about the best time of the year for fishing, fall is the best. Go to ncwaterman.com. there is lots of info on the area.
