Does anyone have experience shipping a Whaler? My father has a 1975 17' (not sure which one, haven't seen it) that I want to get from Cape Cod to Fort Lauderdale so I can restore it to its original beauty and luster. I've had bigger boats shipped over-road before, but was hoping there might be a somewhat cost-effective alternative for a smaller boat like this.

Thanks!

Try posting an ad on uship.com - Thats what I have done for my last few moves - It seems to work quite well. People get to offer bids on your shipment. I saved $600 on my last move over just calling a local boat hauler. Just make sure they are properly insured etc.

I was contacted from a member in San Francisco, to look at a BW Outrage 18 here in San Diego. In doing so I stopped by the BW dealer in San Diego and asked if he knew a way to get the boat to San Francisco? He said he could get it there. I did not know if it would be to the dealer in Oakland or it to this guy's (no names here) front door I didn't pressure him on this mater. You may ask the dealer where the boat is being sold . Maybe they can transport it from one dealer to another, or the dealer by you.

Scott, Guts, thanks. That sounds like a good start.

I live in the northeast and would be happy to take a trip to FL for the right compensation! Pfft
