I used to live in North Carolina and there was a product called KEL-132 that I used to buy there. I still have one can left but it's not easy to find here in NJ. It's a lubricant that leaves behind a sort of waxy film. It might be horribly toxic for all I know but it protects things very well. I also used Boeshield once before, that seemed to be similar.

Any thoughts on what's the best protectant-style lubricant? I'm looking for something to spray on the bolts in my engine to keep them from binding up.

A long time ago my father introduced me to "Never-Seize". This product has been around since WWII. My Grandfather introduced it to my dad way back. I have had fantastic "luck" with it.

The company's motto is "Put it together with never seize, take it apart with guaranteed ease". If I've had an engine apart and reassembled it with this stuff I've yet to have a bolt or nut get stuck. It is still produce and can be purchased at most automotive parts stores.

I just found about and purchased a couple of cans of this anti-corrosion spray below from BRP (Evinrude). It's designed specifically for powerheads, but can also be used on anything that will rust, especially in the marine environment. Am currently using it on my trailer brake parts, hubs, springs, etc. and will also give the powerhead a coating.

Never-Seize/Anti-seize is the stuff to use for the threads so they don't corrode as some of the aluminum seems always seems to do. Available at automotive stores like Auto Zone or PepBoys. Silver bottle. Great stuff.

Google a product called Fluid Film.

I have been using it and it works. Supposedly it was developed for NASA.

I just use WD40 - works very well, economical, available everywhere. I shoot it on everything underneath the motor cover a couple of times a year and it keeps things looking like new.

WD-40 is the wonder lube. It's also good for a fish attractant. Spray it on your bait and HOLD ON!!!

If you're talking about treating the threads before you install the bolt, then I'm with Norm and Eri. I've been using anti-sieze on threads for many years.

I don't understand. BoeShield seems to work well for everything. But what I can't understand is I moved from Jersey to South Cackalacki and love it. What are you doing up there? Hopefully making/building a MINT!?! God Bless You!!! j/k. zotcha.
